Meet Alexa Carr
2024 GEM
“UToledo boasts a supportive and diverse community, with faculty and staff who are dedicated to student success. The opportunity for hands-on clinical experience and research involvement also attracted me to UToledo, as I wanted to gain practical skills and contribute to advancements in healthcare. Overall, UToledo provided the ideal environment for me to pursue my education and professional goals.“
Meet Molly Mouch
2024 BSN
“Being a part of so much in the College of Nursing has allowed me to see how many different ways I can give back as a nurse. I am so grateful to have been an Ambassador for the College of Nursing as I have been able to be someone to look up to just as I had with those students ahead of me.”
Meet Dema Herzallah
2024 BSN
“The biggest challenge at UToledo was learning how to balance my involvement and my studies. I overcame this challenge by learning to prioritize and asking for help from fellow classmates and leaders.”
Meet Joseph Walton
2024 GEM
“The biggest challenge for me has been trying to be present for my kids while completing the GEM program,” he said. “I would say that I gave what I could to the program while not taking away from my children and the time I spend with them. I think the decision to do so will transfer into how I look at jobs and careers moving forward. “There is no amount of money or prestige that can change this for me, I am certain of that now because of UToledo’s GEM program.”
Meet Brittany Sheaves
2023 Dec RN-BSN
“An RN/BSN degree at The University of Toledo gave me the opportunity to be a clinical instructor for other BSN students and the knowledge and willingness to further my education to become a Nurse Practitioner. One of the things that I liked about UToledo College of Nursing is that the classes were all self-paced. In the beginning of the semester all of the coursework is given out and it can be completed on our own time. This helps with the balance of work, home life, and school.”
Meet Jeffrey Nelson
2023 Dec bachelor’s degree in nursing
“One of my most memorable experiences as a student at UT has been making all of the friends that I have made throughout the program. The students, the faculty, and even the program itself have all helped me find my purpose again. Since my injury and no longer being able to do what I wanted to do in the criminal justice field, I was just kind of bouncing from job to job and I was not sure what I wanted to do with my life. Since entering the nursing program and meeting my fellow students and the professors, I have rediscovered my purpose and I cannot wait to start working as a nurse and helping people.”
Meet Christopher McCoy DNP, BSN, RN
2023 DNP
"I continued to work full-time while completing my degree. I thought it was very manageable allowing me to schedule out my time for school and work appropriately. After graduation, the DNP degree helped me to present research at state, national, and international conferences discussing issues pertaining to mens’ health."
