General Studies
The General Studies associates degree allows you to complete the University of Toledo
Core Requirements that all students must take while utilizing the remaining credits
to further his or her career or as a stepping stone towards a bachelor's degree.
Students are able to use 24 credits of the degree to create a concentration that meets
their specific needs through either professional development opportunities or tailoring
these credits to a future degree path.
Admission into the General Studies Degree:
To be admitted to the general studies program, you must have:
- A minimum cumulative grade-point average of 2.0
- For direct-from-high school students, a minimum 15 ACT score is required
Earning an Associate’s Degree in General Studies:
To earn an Associate’s degree in General Studies, you must:
- Complete a minimum of 60 credits with:
- 36 semester-hours of UT Core Curriculum credit that is aligned with the Ohio Transfer Module
- 24 semester-hours in 1000-2000 level classes chosen by the student to support transfer to a bachelor’s degree program or fulfill personal interests
- 15 of the completed credits being completed while declared as an associate in General Studies student
The General Studies Degree also has an option to earn your degree 100% online, depending on your interest area(s)
