The Friends of Music exists to nurture excellence among UT music students, and the work of the organization is truly an ensemble effort. The Friends of Music is an association of UT alumni, parents, and friends who support the music department through fundraising and by volunteering to assist with special events (receptions, ushering, ticket sales, etc.) Donations to the Friends of Music support scholarships, music instrument purchases, and capital improvements within the department. A Friends of Music membership drive was launched at our Showcase Concert in October. Funds raised will benefit the Department of Music in many ways providing money for scholarships, special concerts and events and other needs of the department. A steering committee made up of alumni and friends will organize activities for the members.
