UToledo is driving a model of team-based, communicative healthcare education.
A highlight of UToledo’s interprofessional education program is its Interprofessional Immersive Simulation Center, where students collaborate on simulated clinical scenarios.
Students from the fields of medicine, nursing, physician assistant, pharmacy, psychology, public health, social work, speech language pathology, and physical, occupational and respiratory therapy learn to communicate across disciplines and respect their colleagues’ roles at the patient’s bedside.
Through immersive, simulated clinical scenarios, students collaborate to keep the patient at the center of their practice for improved health outcomes.
The required curriculum ensures that every student in UToledo’s health-professions programs is prepared to thrive as part of a coordinated care team in healthcare settings of varying acuity.
