Welcome to the Military Service Center New Student Orientation Briefing!

STEP 1:

Watch the "Welcome to the Military Service Center (MSC) orientation" video below.

 

STEP 2:

Read the following questions below and make sure you can answer "Yes" to each question. If you answer 'No' to any of the questions, follow the directions provided for each question.

• Question 1: Have you been admitted to the University of Toledo?
  • If yes, skip to the next question.
  • If no, go to discover.utoledo.edu to start the admittance process.
• Question 2: Have you completed the new student or transfer orientation?
  • If yes, skip to the next question.
  • If no, go to Orientation to schedule an orientation.
• Question 3: Have you applied for your Department of Veteran Affairs Education benefits?
  • If yes, skip to the next question.
  • If no, apply for education benefits at Vets.gov/education/apply.
• Question 4: Have you been approved for your VA Education benefit yet?
  • If yes, skip to the next question.
  • If no, contact the Military Service Center once you have received your certificate of eligibility from the Department of Veteran Affairs. The Military Service Center (MSC) is located in Rocket Hall 1350, with office hours 8:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. The phone number is 419.530.1392.
• Question 5: Do you know which benefit you have been approved for?
  • If yes, skip to the next question.
  • If no, contact the Department of Veteran Affairs at 1-888-GIBILL-1 to confirm your benefit of either 30, 31, 33, 35, 1606, or 1607.
• Question 6: Do you plan on using Tuition Assistance or other Department of Defense education benefits?
  • If yes, you must speak with your Education Service Office (ESO) prior to enrolling in courses.
  • If no, contact to the next step.

STEP 3:

View the Orientation Power Point for your appropriate Chapter Benefits below. Once you have read the presentation, download and fill out the required MSC forms indicated in your chapter benefits PowerPoint and submit them to the Military Service Center.

 Complete the MSC New Student Orientation process by filling out and submitting the New Student Orientation Form.
