What category of student are you? Students at The University of Toledo have traditionally been grouped into the following categories:
- Adult Students
While all of our students are adults, this term specifically refers to students who have been out of high school more than one year, who have a GED, or who have under eight semester hours (or under twelve quarter hours) of previous college course work from another regionally accredited college or university.
- Direct From High School Students (DHS)
First-year freshmen students (domestic and international) who are enrolling at The University of Toledo less than one year after the date of their high school graduation. This includes Fall Enrollees only.
- International Students
Students whose citizenship is anything other than that of the United States of America or who are non-permanent resident aliens of the United States of America (green card holders) are considered to be International Students
- Transfer Students
Transfer students are individuals who have attempted at least twelve quarter hours or eight semester hours at a regionally accredited college or university other than UT after high school.
- Guest Students
Guest Students are students who are enrolled at or seeking a degree at another college/university, but who wish to take course work temporarily at The University of Toledo.
- Post-Secondary Enrollment Options Program Students
Post-Secondary Enrollment Options Program Students are students who have not yet graduated from high school; are in grades nine, ten, eleven or twelve; and have applied and been admitted to The University of Toledo's Post-Secondary Enrollment Options Program, which is funded through the State of Ohio. Post-Secondary students may only take courses at UT during fall and spring semesters.
- Concurrent Enrollment Options Program Students
Concurrent Enrollment Options Program Students are students who have not yet graduated from high school; are in grades nine, ten, eleven, or twelve; and have applied and been admitted to The University of Toledo's Concurrent Enrollment Options Program. Concurrent Enrollment students may take courses during fall, spring, or summer terms. Concurrent Enrollment students are responsible for paying all course expenses for registered classes.
