Ritter Planetarium: School & Private Programs

Ritter Planetarium offers a variety of programs for all age groups and grades. Most programs are delivered "live" by a member of our staff, but some are pre-recorded. The central star projector, slides, and special effects are used to illustrate the presentation. Most programs include a look at the evening sky, highlighting some of the season's visible constellations and the locations of the visible planets. Many also include some discussion of the motions of the Earth and the changing sky.

Unless otherwise stated, the total length of time spent at the planetarium, including visiting the displays in our lobby, the planetarium program, and a question and answer period, is approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes. To find out more about our programs, please choose a grade level from the listing to the right.

  • Fees for all school programs are $5 per child. Accompanying adults are admitted free.
  • There is a minimum fee of $100 for school groups with fewer than 20 children.
  • Fees for all NON-SCHOOL private programs ar $5 per adult and $4 per child (12 and under).
  • There is a minumum fee of $125 for non-school groups with fewer than 20 people in attendance.
