VCC LEARNING MODES

Three interactive learning modes** are available: 

DISCOVERY, EXAMINATION and CODE SCENARIO**education.

VCC Main Modes

Discovery mode is designed self paced learning or review of the entire cart and it's contents.  It provides users the opportunity to explore the cart in different ways to help build accuracy and proficency at locating cart items. 

Users are allowed an unlimited number of attempts at locating objects.
 
Within Discovery Mode there are three item discovery options available: ExploratoryChecklist & Random Item Quiz lists.

Discovery - Exploratory

  • Exploratory mode allows the user to open drawers and investigate all of the contents. Rolling over an item reveals the name to ensure proper identification.  Items can be magnified and rotated and for closer inspection (using the center mouse wheel).

 

Checklist mode provides preset lists of items to locate deliver to the drag and drop area provided on the screen.  Custom lists can be programmed in for an additonal cost.

  • Random Item Quiz mode will provide a selected number of items pulled randomly from the cart's contents. Users may select from 5, 10 or 20 items to locate and deliver to the drag and drop area provided on the screen.

Examination


Examination mode provdes scored testing options that check user's accuracy and proficency at identifying and delivering specifically requested code cart items.
- Only three item location attempts are permitted. 
- All correct and incorrect attempts are recorded and scored. 
- Scores and certificates of completion are available to provide proof os competencies.

Within Examination Mode there are two testing options available:Checklist Exam & Random Item Exam.
  • Checklist Exam mode utilizes the preset checklist and tests the users  items to locate deliver to the drag anddrop area provided on the screen.  Exam checklists just are graded versions of the preset checklists from Discovery mode.
  • Random Item Exam provides the specified number of items pulled randomly from the cart's contents.  Users may select from 5, 10 or 20 items to locate and deliver to the drag and drop area provided on the screen.

Scenario Item to Find  Code Scenario mode is designed to test your proficiency in reacting to simulated commands during a cardiac arrest code.

Learners are stepped through a sequence of events of a code scenario, advancing from easy to more complex and advanced mega codes.
Each simulation code scenario is described step by step.   As directed by the events, multiple items from the cart will be required.  A list of required items is presented and learner is required to locate, identify and deliver to the drag and drop area provided on the screen. Only one location attempt is permitted and correct and incorrect attempts are scored.

Additional code scenarios can be created for an additional fee.

**All modes have a limited number of options that can be customized by UT staff development based on the learners discipline and skill set.
