The Office of International Student and Scholar Services (OISSS) within Center for International Studies and Programs can help with hiring a student or scholar on a J-1 visa status.  J-1 scholars are short-term employees who teach, lecture, research, or otherwise use special skills in their field.  Find out more by visiting CISP's J-1 Scholar webpages or peruse our J-1 Handbook.

For assistance with hiring a J-1 scholar, call OISSS at 419-530-4229.

Hire international employees

There are over 70 international employees at UToledo on nonimmigrant visas and many more that have an international background.  These employees work in many "specialty occupation" fields.  When a department identifies a prospective employee in the application process, contact CISP as soon as possible in the hiring process so that we may assist the department and HR with the necessary paperwork and visa process.  For more information, see our Employement Based Immigration Services pages or contact us at 419-530-5268.
