Build a Faculty-Led Study Abroad Trip
Take a group of students to another country. Work with UToledo’s Education Abroad Office to plan and implement your trip. Faculty-led trips are short-term experiences usually taken during summer, winter break, or spring break. For more information:

Internationalize Your Curriculum
- Use internationally focused case studies and examples
- Invite international guest lecturers
- Incorporate an internationally themed module
- Incorporate UToledo’s international events in the course. See a list on our How to Have an International Experience for Students page.
- Add readings on global issues related to the course content
- Encourage international students to share their perspectives in class
- Pair domestic and international students on projects
- Design research and activities to include a global focus
- Incorporate internationally focused TED Talks. Watch some internationally themed TED Talks:
Collaborate
Share information with international faculty at UToledo and abroad or collaborate with international colleagues on teaching and research projects. UToledo has approximately 50 international faculty members and many more who have international experience. Check with colleagues to make international connections. CISP also has connections to and partnerships with many institutions overseas. View our list of International Institutional Affiliations.
Present
Present at an international conference or present to UToledo colleagues on international topics.
Spend a sabbatical in another country

Enroll in the Fulbright Scholar Program
Fulbright Scholar grants range from two weeks to one year. UToledo has information at the Office of Competitive Scholarships Fulbright Scholar Program page. Read about past Fulbright winners:
Teach Abroad through USAC
USAC offers a $5,000 stipend for qualified faculty members from USAC consortium universities to teach courses abroad during the summer. The program is called Visiting Professor (VP) Program. Faculty members can choose from various courses in many countries. The application deadline is the first of June. For more information, contact us at EduAbroad@UToledo.edu
