All newly hired permanent staff members and post doctoral associates must attend
New Hire Orientation. Currently, orientations are held on the second and fourth
Tuesday of every month in the Human Resources conference room. Orientation
begins at 8:00am and runs through 12:30pm.
In order for Human Resources to prepare orientation materials in advance,
the Hiring Department must contact Terrie Kovacs, Ben Bohland, or Meghan Rayfield
to schedule the new employee for their orientation prior to the orientation
date.
All new CWA members will meet with a union representative on the day of
orientation at 7:30am - 8:00am before the regular orientation begins.
Topics discussed/presented during New Hire Orientation:
Presenters will discuss

- Flexible Spending Accounts

- Parking Permits & UT ID's

- FERPA - Student Data Safety
- Absence Reporting

- Recreation Facility Memberships
- Student Centeredness
Materials a new employee should bring to orientation include:
- Identification
to complete the federal I-9 form. (For a list of acceptable identification
documents, please see page 3 of the I-9 form)
- Dependent's Social Security
numbers for completing insurance forms.
- Writing materials.
