Configuring Your Browser for Blackboard (Bb)
A current list of browsers compatible with Blackboard (Bb) can be found at: http://www.webct.com/tuneup. If your browser is not listed you can download a browser from the list for FREE. Information on your browser can be accessed by going to your Blackboard (Bb) Entry Page and clicking on Check Browser.
A second procedure in the configuration of your internet browser is to be sure that your Javascript and cookies are enabled. The setup procedure varies slightly between IE and Netscape. The table below will guide you through the step-by-step process in enabling these components to you browser. Please follow the directions carefully and in order.

- Choose Internet Options from the Tools menu
- Click on the Security Tab
- Click on Custom Level
- Scroll down until you see a section on Cookies and click on the Enable radio button
- Click on OK to close the window
- Click on Advanced Tab
- Scroll down until you see the section Microsoft VM
- Check to make sure the options for Java console and Java
Logging are turned on
- NOTE: Be aware you'll need to restart your computer when you're finished with these changes if the Java Console option was not selected
- Click on the General Tab
- The middle section is named Temporary Internet Files. Click on the Settings button
- Under Check for newer versions of stored pages, verify/select the option Every visit to the page is turned on
- Click on OK to close the window
- Click on OK again to save your settings

- Choose Content from the Tools menu
- If "block pop-up windows" is checked, click on the button to the right that says Exceptions
- Add the following URL:
utwebct.utdl.edu and click Allow
- Be certain the options Enable Java and Enable JavaScript are checked.
