Campus Walking Paths

Please use the walking paths with care.  Be mindful of weather conditions, trip hazards and your surroundings along the paths.  The University assumes no responsibility for any injury that may occur while using the walking paths.

Helpful Walking Safety Tips and Practices

  • Wear comfortable, supportive shoes.  Wearing the proper shoes reduces risk of injury and can make your walk more comfortable.
  • Check with your physician before beginning any kind of physical activity to ensure you are healthy enough to participate.
  • Start with short distances and work your way up.  This reduces your risk for injury and fatigue.
  • Focus on proper posture while walking. Keep your head lifted and shoulders relaxed.  Naturally swing your arms and walking at a natural stride length.
