Alternative Spring Break Trip to New Mexico

  • First Year Experience Service Learning Fellowship: 
    Applications are now being accepted from first year students who would like to take part in a year of service in the community!
    First Year students will participate in 35 hours of service and reflection each semester and earn a $250 bookstore voucher each semester to pay for school books and supplies. To apply for the program please click here.

  • Issue-Based Community Advisory Council: 3/11
    Members representing the issue-based communities should plan on gathering to discuss goals and plans for the issue-based community meetings.  If you are a community member and would like more information on how to get involved please contact us and also visit
  • Great Cities Grant Mixer -  11/14
    About 30 University of Toledo and Woodward High School students came together for fun, games, and learning about one another's school. 
  • United North Visioning Session - 11/8
    Service learning students from Great Cities Grant classes participated in this session to learn more about the North Toledo community and to provide input on possible community goals and strategies.
  • Community Partners Meeting - 11/5
    This community meeting brought together over 40 different social services agencies from the Toledo area with more than 20 faculty and administrators from the University to discuss possibilities for future collaborations and projects in small Issue Based Communities.
  • OASHF Benefit Bank 10/26
    OSLCE partnered with the Toledo Food Bank and the Ohio Association of Second Harvest Food Banks to host a Benefit Bank clinic on the UT campus.  This clinic provided trained counselors to guide people through applications to a wide variety of social services, including HEAP, Food Stamps, WIC and others.
  • Make-A-Difference Day - 10/27
    OSLCE organized a service opportunity at Josina Lott for students to take part in a National Day of Service.
  • Clean Your Streams 9/15
    A team of students for the Service Learning Floor and from the Service Ambassador student leaders worked on this annual city-wide clean up project, pulling trash from the Ottawa River.
