Eligibility for accommodations under Section 504 of the 1973 Rehabilitation Act and the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 is based on the existence of a physical or mental condition that substantially impacts academic and campus life. The accommodations listed below are the more common accommodations implemented for students with disabilities. Appropriate accommodations are determined by documentation content, the parameters of the course, and the professor's learning goals.
These support services are short term and are directly related to a student issue. They are not designed to replace other services or courses offered by The University of Toledo.
The University of Toledo provides the following support services at no charge to enrolled students. In addition, to these general services, individual colleges offer services specific to their domain. The Office of Accessibility strongly encourages students with disabilities to supplement their accommodations and support services through the Office of Accessibility with the free services offered by The University of Toledo and the individual colleges.
