    A Message from the Dean
    Dennis Lettman, Ph.D.
     Dean, University College

    Welcome to University College!

We are your link to more accessible education and training with flexible, customized degrees in some of the hottest and growing professions. University College specializes in offering bachelor degrees for individuals with unique areas of interest and degree completion programs designed for busy adults, as well as offering learner support services for all UT’s students. In addition, it offers community partnerships that help achieve the university’s outreach and engagement mission.

Remember, it is never too late to start or finish your degree. We offer Bachelor degrees in Individualized Programs, Adult Liberal Studies and Administrative Services. These degrees offer the flexibility of designing your own program of study, the potential to earn credit for life experience and acceleration through CLEP testing. Our Department of Interdisciplinary and Special Programs can help you begin.

The Academic Skills Enhancement courses are provided through this division to all UT students who need them. Our Learning Enhancement Center at Bancroft and Scott Park Campus will assist any UT student with individual, group or computer assisted tutoring.

We also have wide range of academic and student services that enable students to formulate and achieve their academic, personal and career goals. University College houses services for students such as academic advising, student development and life planning, testing and assessment, special enrollment programs for senior citizens, and specialized workshops and seminars. Students know they have a place to come to help them discover and achieve their academic goals.

University College also focuses attention on helping UT accomplish its outreach and engagement missions. We work to increase The University’s impact on academic services to its communities, including business and industry, neighborhoods, government agencies and others. This is done through the following divisions: Workplace Credit Programs and Continuing Education.

University College is also focused on building a stronger, more vital community by providing opportunities for students, agencies and other members of our community through the Division of Community and Economic Development focused on using technology and capacity-building efforts to aid urban and regional communities’ transition from manufacturing-based to technology-driven economies.

Finally, our Testing Centers and SkillsMAX Center, enables individuals and organizations to readily assess skill and job-readiness and locate additional resources to develop additional skill.

University College is a learning community dedicated to providing current and future leaders with the knowledge and skills they will need to achieve their dreams of success. On behalf of the University College faculty and staff, we invite you to browse our web site and contact us to strengthen your competitive edge.
